About me + about therapy
My philosophy
This is my 25th year of practice, which gives me a certain amount of wisdom and expertise, but more importantly, 25 years means I'm not surprised by much of anything! Hopefully, my comfort with this process will help you be comfortable too. All my work is trauma-sensitive/informed and welcoming of all backgrounds. I still really enjoy my work and wouldn’t want to do anything else. My pronouns are: she/her/hers.
real
I don't think therapy should be some stuffy clinically sterile experience. I'm real, I'm approachable, and I sometimes slip up and have a potty mouth too. I provide emotional safety and professional boundaries without feeling rigid or formal.
cooperative
I remind you of your goals and help you remember your humanity. I support your work towards who you are and who you are called to be. We always celebrate your success and decide what's next together.
I draw on many types of evidence-based therapy models and blend them with the warmth of an authentic and trusting relationship.
I draw from:
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Relational-Cultural Theory
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
and Psychodynamic & Interpersonal Therapy
